Twin Maples Farm is fast becoming an island of green within an ever growing residential community. Many of the larger farms have been subdivided and paved with large houses and manicured lawns. We are one of the few intact farms remaining in the area. The farm complex maintains its integrity down to the outhouse. Our goal is to keep Twin Maples Farm as a farm in perpetuity. Subdivision is not an option. Although the crops and livestock have changed over the years, we adhere to a few simple principles: · raise as much of our own food as possible. · be responsible stewards to both the livestock and the natural environment. · enjoy the hard work and revel in the benefits of rural life. · share our experiences with others.
We’re not trying to experience the “good old days” or reconstruct the lifeways of our predecessors. We don’t have lofty goals of complete sustainability. What we do is integrate and attempt to balance technology and common sense to develop a responsible lifestyle that simply, we enjoy. So if you need a break from the fast lane come walk our trail, enjoy nature, make an omelet from eggs of truly free range hens, converse with a llama, pet the cow, or just sit back and watch falling stars while roasting hotdogs on an open fire. We don’t have a patent on happiness, but Twin Maples Farm is a good place to start.. Local = Fresh No Hormones, Humane Treatment, Fair Price |
